One of the most famous lines ever uttered came rolling off Josh's lips as he pulled out of the parking lot at the greatest stage in Bass Fishing today !!!

Day 3, As the Smoke Cleared....

I made the cut and played on day three of the greatest event of my life !!! I took the long ride back to my secret spot, and worked it from one end to the other. i was site fishing and there were enough big fish there to give me a chance. The fish had been spooked by another fisherman ( not a competitor) and so catching them was extremely challenging... All in all, I had one of the greatest experiences of my life and I guarantee it will not be the last !!!

While driving down the road to get home Monday I couldn't help but notice the best pace to stay the night happened to be at Lake Amistad Texas !!!

A fifhing we will go, a fishing we will go, and away we went for a short little tour of one of the great fisheries in the south... More on this experience later. . .

     Recent Accomplishments

          2011 Bassmaster National Championship

      November brought about the greatest challenge of my career !!! I took on the best anglers in the Bass Federation Nation. With several weeks of preperation under my belt and years of confidence building I found myself going into the 3rd day with a real chance of going to the classic.

      Now as we all know the 3rd day of an event means you had to reach DEEP into the bag of tricks to keep producing quality fish. I was sure the magic number was 10lbs. On a side note, for those that haven't had an opportunity to see how this works, they let you sit in your boat all by your self for hours waiting to cross the stage on the final day !!!

     Well, it was my turn and as they pulled my boat to the stage I heard this daunting question " Josh would you pull your smallest fish from the livewell" .... WOW, my heart shrunk and sweat poured from my brow as I felt a certain amount of embarassment coming... I pulled it out and tried to shield the 1 1/2lb largemouth from the crowd... With not so much as a hesitation they announced " folks he doesn't even have to weigh this fish to go to the BASSMASTER CLASSIC !!!!"

     I almost burst into tears with relief, excitment, and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. Since I was 15 years old I have dreamed of this day.... 

     Last year I had the opportunity to come done to the National Championship and support my great friend Brandon Palaniuk as he took the 2010 Championship  I also went to the 2010 Bassmaster Classic and watched him finish 4th !!! NOW here I am, headed to the Classic to join him on the journey of a lifetime.....

           May 2011 BASS Western Divisionals

       A stepping stone to the th Classic, this event went like most for Josh. He whooped it !!! With 3 days of rough fishing, Josh managed to put a great limit together every day. The only way you can stand a chance is if your on home waters and Josh has less than a week to prepare.... A trip to the National Championship resulted.

       2010 was a great year on the qualifiers. Josh easily qualified for the Idaho State Team with four solid tournaments.

     November of 2010 aslo brought a huge commitment By Josh. He accepted a nomination to the IBFN State Presidents position. as of today he has retained this position and puts in every effort to improve the Federation for future members....

Days after the Classic...

   Wow, a quick trip home and a shower was the extent of alone time. Upon arrival home it was off to the Sportsman show to represent my great sponsor Nixon Marine. At the same time I juggled some quality time at Cabelas for the 1st of 2 casting kids events the IBFN put on, then back to my duties as President of the IBFN, speaking at Club meetings and the 2nd weekend of Cabelas casting kids !!! Life is good !!! It is amazing to get to mentor the kids at these events. There eyes get as big as silver dollars as they jump in my wrapped boat for a picture and some question & answer time !!!

    I am just an averge guy working hard to do what I love, but I hope with each kid I talk to that maybe I spark that interest to become an IBFN member and fish towards a dream !!!

Day 2 ! What a Great Day!!!

I started out slower than I had hoped , but by noon the Big fish were starting to come up and I managed to stick a couple nice ones before my long ride back to weigh-in !!!

Day One In The Books !!!

It feels great to have the first day out of the way and be in the top 25 !!!!

All I can say is sit back in your recliner and yell GO PO GO !!! The best is yet to come !!!

Thursday 2/23/12

Today we are off the water, but the fun doesn't stop... I am sitting in this great facility talking with reporters and such from all over about the experience so far !!! WOW, pretty amazing.

The next time I roll into this building it will be with a boat full of fish !!!!

As for today I hear its blowing up pretty good so maybe being off the water isn't so bad !! Cheer for me, I will catch ya ;later !!!

   Wrapped & Rollin !!!

 I am on the road.... Classic Bound !!! it will be a long ride but i am so pumped it will fly by !! I pick up my boat on Thursday and after a couple chores It is off to a local lake to break it in....

  Well the local lake breakin is a little behind schedule... I found all the snow we are missing in Idaho.... I got held up in Wyoming and Colorado by almost a full day due to terrible road conditions.... I am hanging in Louisiana now though!!!

  WOW, does it get much better !?!?!? Thanks to all the great friends and supporters that have helped me get her. It is truly humbling !!!

   Keep up the faith !!! 8 rookies have pulled off a Classic win ... Number 9 ???
